  UNIVERSITY OF TOLEDO PDG Green
Technology & Incubation Center

The University of Toledo has retained PDG in conjunction with BHDP Architecture for the design of its 40,000 square-foot Technology and Incubation Center. The new two-story complex will promote multi-disciplinary research by bringing together entrepreneurs, scientists, and university staff/students in a productive and synergistic setting. The facility includes open lease office spaces, conference rooms, display areas, restroom facilities, and storage space. PDG incorporated the U.S. Green Building Council’s requirements into an adaptable design for maximum flexibility to the end users. LEED “Silver” is the set threshold for design standards. Innovative design concepts such as durable and movable interior partitions and plug-and-go electrical and HVAC systems have been developed for consideration. PDG’s knowledge and determination have been instrumental in securing a $2 million grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) for this $4 million project, which is one of a limited number of EDA-funded projects to meet LEED requirements.
