Pre-design, design, bidding services, public information, SID coordination, and construction management for approximately four (4) miles of median and pedestrian enhancement along Las Vegas Boulevard from Hacienda Avenue to Sahara Avenue. Also included were major utility coordination, curb and gutter, street lighting, landscaping, irrigation, crosswalk enhancements, partial pavement, and successful application of Partnering.

National Guard Training and Community Center

PDG was the primary consultant to the National Guard, City of Bowling Green and Wood Lane School and Industries for the programming, design, bidding and construction administration for the 76,378 s.f. Bowling Green National Guard Training and Community Center. PDG provided architectural, civil, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering design services for the joint project as well as overall project management and administration. The National Guard major spaces include a drill floor, administration office, classrooms, lockers, showers, storage, arms, vault, library and learning center, vehicle work bays, and kitchen. The National Guard functions are separated spaces from the public components of the facility.
The major component of the City of Bowling Greens Community Center is a 16,800 s.f. gymnasium which will be shared with the National Guard. The gym includes four volleyball courts, two regulation high school basketball courts, and four modified recreational basketball cross-courts. The gymnasium is dividable by means of a drop-down curtain system that will separate it into two areas. The Community Center also includes, an elevated running track, multipurpose areas, locker rooms, and a childcare facility.
Wood Lanes portion of the building has one regulation high school basketball court, and two regulation volleyball courts. The gymnasium is designed to accommodate spectator seating with telescoping bleachers for 300 people. Designated special needs locker rooms for Wood Lane members were incorporated along with office and storage space.

Sandusky County Juvenile Detention Center

PDG was engaged to provide design and construction administration services for a new 36-bed juvenile detention facility in Sandusky County, funded in part with Department of Youth Services grant funds to replace an existing facility. |

Lake Erie Islands Welcome Center
|

The new Welcome Center in Ottawa County, Ohio is an 8,720 s.f. building featuring an exhibition area with interactive play area, wine vault, replica of the Marblehead Lighthouse, fish tank exhibit, a "Sight the Flight" bird exhibit, and a state park exhibit. The Center also includes a conference/theater area, administrative offices operated by the Ottawa County Visitors Bureau, and public toilets. A 42-foot-tall, 199-foot long concrete wall is the dominant feature of the building and incorporates images of a lighthouse, barn and trees into the surrounding landscape.
PDG prepared an application for a low-interest loan from USDA-RD and for loan guarantee from the USDA-RD for the local financing portion of the project.
2004 Toledo AIA Design Awards Program has recognized this project for design excellence with a Citation Award. The jury, commenting on the project, stated: "We are not accustomed to whimsy rendered in massive concrete bearing walls. The building responds to its program by shouting "welcome"! to passing traffic.

Kalahari Resorts Convention Center

PDG was selected to provide architectural, interior, and engineering design services for the new 95,000 sq.ft., $12 Million, convention/ event center attached to the existing Kalahari full service resort located along State Route 250 in Sandusky. The convention/event center offers 60,000 sq.ft. of flexible meeting space that includes 25 total meeting rooms, a 17,200 sq.ft. grand ballroom, two 3,500 sq.ft. junior ballrooms, 17 break-out rooms, two board rooms and four hospitality suites. Designed to incorporate Kalaharis rich African theme, the new facility features several special meeting rooms resembling African mud huts. The entire facility showcases Kalaharis vast collection of authentic African decor, furnishings and artwork. The new convention/event center complements the existing indoor water park and 596-room resort hotel.. |
